Note on data transfer to the USA

Our website uses, in particular, tools from companies based in the USA. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the US servers of the respective companies. We would like to point out that the USA is not a safe third country in the sense of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you, as the data subject, being able to take legal action against this. It can therefore not be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) may process, evaluate and permanently store your data located on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.

Revocation of your consent to the processing of your data

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may revoke your consent at any time. The legality of the data processing performed prior to the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to object to the collection of data in special cases and to direct advertising (Article 21 GDPR)

IF THE DATA ARE PROCESSED ON THE BASIS OF ARTICLE 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR REASONS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU LODGE AN OBJECTION, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR RELEVANT PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN PROVE COMPELLING REASONS WORTHY OF PROTECTION FOR THE PROCESSING THAT OUTWEIGH YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOM, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE PURPOSE OF ASSERTING, EXERCISING OR DEFENDING LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION ON THE BASIS OF ARTICLE 21(1) GDPR).

IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ARE PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT ADVERTISING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH ADVERTISING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO ANY PROFILING ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH DIRECT ADVERTISING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES (OBJECTION ACCORDING TO ARTICLE 21(2) GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

In the event of infringements of GDPR, the persons concerned shall have the right to appeal to a supervisory authority, particularly in the Member State of their habitual residence or workplace, or the place of the presumed infringement. The right of complaint exists without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common machine-readable format. If you request direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done if it is technically feasible.

SSL or TLS encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential contents, such as orders or inquiries, that you send to us as the website operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the change in the browser’s address line from “http://” to “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transfer to us cannot be read by third parties.

Information, deletion and correction

Within the scope of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to be provided with information free of charge at any time about your personal data that are stored, their origin and recipient(s) and the purpose of the data processing, and, if applicable, you also have the right to have such data corrected or erased. You can contact us at any time using the address provided in our Legal Notice if you have further questions on the subject of personal data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. To do this, you can contact us at the address indicated in the Legal Notice at any time. The right to restrict processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored with us, we generally need time to verify this. During the period of verification, you have the right to demand that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
  • If the processing of your personal data occurred/ is occurring unlawfully, you may request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
  • If we no longer need your personal data, but you need them for the exercise, defence or assertion of legal claims, you have the right to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
  • If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Article 21(1) GDPR, both your interests and our interests must be weighed. As long as it is not yet clear whose interests predominate, you have the right to demand that the processing of your personal data be restricted.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such data may not be processed – apart from their storage – without your consent or for the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending legal rights or protecting the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of an important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

  1. Data collection on this website

Server log files

The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits to us automatically. These are:

  • Browser type and version
  • The operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server query
  • IP address

These data will not be merged with other data sources.

These data are collected on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a justified interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of their website – for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.

Contact form

If you use the contact form to send us inquiries, the details in the contact form including the contact data provided there by you will be stored in our system for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for possible follow-up questions. We will not disclose these data without your consent.

The processing of these data is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the performance of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the requests addressed to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested.

The data that you have entered in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to erase them, revoke your consent to storage or until the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after processing of your inquiry has been completed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular, retention periods – remain unaffected.

Request by email, phone or fax

If you contact us by email, phone or fax, your inquiry including all resulting personal data (name, inquiry) will be stored and processed at our facilities for the purpose of processing your inquiry.

The data you send to us in an inquiry via the contact form will remain with us until you request us to erase them, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after we have finished processing your inquiry). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular, statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

  1. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses features of the Google Analytics web analysis service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google“), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics allows the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, duration of visit, operating systems used and origin of the user.

Google Analytics does not use “cookies“ in this integration, but instead uses its own anonymous and non-resolvable ID (“ClientId“) without personal reference, which is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In addition, Google Analytics cannot merge statistical data with data from other websites across the boundaries of the website.

The use of this analysis tool is based on Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a justified interest in the anonymous analysis of user behaviour in order to optimise both their website and their advertising. If a corresponding consent was requested (e.g. consent to store cookies), the processing is based exclusively on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.

IP anonymisation

We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. As a result, your IP address will be shortened by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before the transmission to the USA. Only in exceptional cases, is the entire IP address transferred to the Google server in the United States and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to create reports on website activities and to provide further services linked to website use and Internet use to the website operator. The IP address transferred by Google Analytics from your browser is not combined with other data from Google.

Browser plugin

You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

You can find more information on how Google Analytics handles user data in Google’s data privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie is set that prevents the collection of your data during future visits to this website in your current browser: Disable Google Analytics.

Contract data processing

We have concluded an order processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Duration of storage

Data stored by Google at user and event level that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. User ID) or advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) is anonymized or deleted after 14 months. Details can be found at the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=de

  1. Plugins and tools

YouTube with enhanced data protection

This website embeds videos from YouTube. The operator of the pages is Google Ireland Limited (“Google“), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

We use YouTube in the extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode causes YouTube not to store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the transfer of data to YouTube partners is not necessarily excluded by the extended data protection mode. For example, YouTube will establish a connection to the Google DoubleClick network, regardless of whether you view a video or not.

As soon as you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection will be established to the YouTube servers. This will inform the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to directly associate your surfing behaviour with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, after a video is started, YouTube may store various cookies on your terminal device or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can obtain information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve user friendliness and prevent fraud attempts.

If necessary, after the start of a YouTube video, further data processing operations may be triggered over which we have no control.

YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. If a corresponding consent was requested, the processing is based exclusively on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.

You can find more information on data privacy at YouTube in their privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
